Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Launch @ UD Wigan, Debenhams #lipstickismyvice
June 17, 2016
Urban Decay launched their biggest line-up to date yesterday, the Vice Lipstick range has Ruby Rose on board and features 100 lipsticks and 50 lip liners. The UD social media has got myself and everyone else very very excited! There are brand new shades of course and some cult favourites that have previously been and gone so we have the chance to get ur hands on some of our favs again. The lipsticks have 6 finishes including: Mega Matte, Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer and Sheer Shimmer along with having insane pigments with UD's Pigment Infusion System™ which gives the lipsticks their creamy texture and rich payout.
I'm a regular visiter at my local Urban Decay counter in Debenhams, you can read about when I attended the Alice palette launch on my blog here. I'd arranged to go in to see and try out some of the Vice collection with the lovely UD assistant/MUA Jade, I arrived at 4pm so she had already had a busy day but was still super excited and energetic about the launch.
The counter was dressed for the launch with Ruby Rose's face around the counter on the graphics, mirror stickers with the hashtag #Lipstick is my Vice on them and lips made out of lipsticks. The display stand for the launch was full with all the new products and screaming fierce!
After looking in amazement at all the lipsticks and the featured stand they was displayed on, with the help of Jade I choose a couple of shades to try on starting with an absolute killer... "Big Bang"!!!
The graphics around the counter shows Ruby Rose wearing different shades and 'Big Bang' was the one that really caught my eye. Its a pink (which isn't usually my choice of lip shade) glitter, metallized shade which is just gorgeous on. I love it, this shade would be great for a night out or for when your feeling a little bold! And of course there is a liner the exact same shade!

Now we all know I'm a sucker for a matte lipstick and a dark shade so 'Blackmail' a wine, plum, black shade, was the next lipstick I'd tried and loved of course. 'Blackmail' is another comfort matte shade so it felt lovely on my lips. The shade is dark and mysterious, Jade had a little play around by adding some 'Moon Dust' in shade 'Intergalactic' to the middle of my lips and wow!! There was definitely a space theme going on and I would totally rock this look on a night out.
Of course I had to try a purple shade as purple lipsticks are my fav's and I wanted to try one of the 'Mega Matte' shades to feel the difference from 'comfort matte'. 'Pandemonium' is a true purple shade, not too dark, not too light and leaves a dramatic look that could be rocked day or night. This was my second favourite shade and again there is a liner to match. The 'mega matte' feel was only a little different to the 'comfort matte' both was very comfortable to wear but this shade felt less creamy and more fixed.
Before I went I had to try a red shade because everyone loves a red lipstick and its an easy choice for any outfit usually. I found the red shades a little harder to choose from as they all did look a little similar being displayed next to each other and I didn't want to go over to an orangey shade. We went with 'Mrs Mia Wallace' which is a 'cream' finish so adds shine to the lips. This lipstick is a true red shade with a fierce and strong look to it, I could wear this lipstick with anything and I love the shade name; I don't usually like lipsticks which add shine but 'Mrs Mia Wallace' isn't too in your face. Jade used the '714' liner as this lipstick doesn't have a matching liner but '714' was a good match.
As usual I had a fantastic time at my local UD counter and the service was outstanding just like normal, I ended up buying just one shade which was '1993' in lipstick and liner but I will be back on payday next week for sure. I can't not have that 'Pandemonium' shade!!
Jade had a kiss swatch board set up next to the counter with customers kiss swaches and names on it, I ended up doing a couple of swatches by the end of my visit. This was a creative and fun idea to add to the UD counter experience.
Have you downloaded the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick app?? It's like Tinder for lipsticks; to start you take a photograph (selfie) of yourself and then start swiping to try on the lipsticks, swipe left to reject and right to keep the shade. I swiped right on 54 shades so how I choose just one shade to buy yesterday I have no idea. Get downloading the app and swiping guys!
